Albert Francis „Al” Simmons, better known as Spawn, is an antihero appearing in a monthly comic book of the same name published by American company Image Comics, as well as in a number of films, television series, and video game adaptations set in the Image Universe. Created by Todd McFarlane, Spawn first appeared in Spawn #1 (May 1992).
Spawn has been thrown into the realm of Greenworld, a third power beyond Heaven and Hell. There he learns that the earth is under siege by man’s relentless pollution and overuse of its resources. He is given the task to stop the war between Heaven and Hell in order to preserve Mother Nature. Back in the alleys, Bootsy prays for Spawn’s return to earth and is removed from earth for interfering with mortal’s lives.
